Brexit Disinformation Campaign

Analysis of fake accounts discussing Brexit and the harm of negative messaging.

The UK’s departure from the European Union provoked a great deal of discussion on Facebook and Twitter. Nearly 129k profiles taking part in the discussion were scanned, of which some 6.3% were found to be fake. Cyabra identified an orchestrated campaign by fake accounts to spread negative feelings regarding Brexit, and identified the main accounts spreading this content.
