Online accounts that use software, scripts, or artificial intelligence to perform actions such as posting, commenting, liking, or sharing content with limited or no human intervention. Automated accounts can serve legitimate purposes, such as distributing news or customer updates, but they may also be used to artificially amplify narratives, coordinate messaging, or manipulate online conversations.
