Sockpuppet

An online account that uses a false or concealed identity to deceive audiences or participate in digital conversations while appearing to be an independent individual. Sockpuppet accounts are often used to amplify narratives, manipulate public perception, coordinate messaging, or create the illusion of grassroots support or opposition. They may operate individually or as part of larger coordinated networks.
