Tariffs and Their Impact on International Brand Reputation

Following the new US tariffs, Cyabra uncovered a massive fake campaign promoting purchases directly from China.

Cyabra analyzed viral conversations on X between April 10–16, following a surge in posts criticizing new US tariffs and encouraging consumers to buy designer goods directly from China.

37% of the X accounts were identified as fake, responsible for 1,734 posts and comments.

The majority of fake profile activity was urging consumers to boycott American products and buy directly from China.
