The project has sparked discourse on both Facebook and Twitter, with some praising the city’s green credentials, and others criticizing the impact on Saudi citizens. Analysis of 49,485 profiles found that 14.3% were fake. On Twitter, these included an orchestrated campaign dedicated to praising the project and spreading information about its development.
