Fake Account

An online account that misrepresents its identity, affiliation, or purpose to deceive others or participate in coordinated digital activity. Fake accounts may impersonate real individuals or organizations, conceal the identity of their operators, or be created to artificially amplify narratives, manipulate engagement, or influence public perception. While a single fake account may have limited impact, coordinated networks of fake accounts can significantly distort digital conversations.
