Cyabra identified 84 Twitter profiles spreading identical information in just over a month, 66% of these profiles being fake, spreading a fake campaign. There was potential to reach more than 272,000 profiles with the intention of stealing personal information. The profiles advertised false promises and slandered the various companies targeted in order to build credibility. This behavior places companies and their consumers at risk.
Cyabra's analysis, in partnership with Onclusive, uncovered coordinated inauthentic activity behind several of the World Cup 2026's most viral controversies, from ticket scams to false claims about competing teams.
Cyabra's analysis found that 77% of the negative discourse around Spotify's logo change came from real users with genuine dissatisfaction. At the same time, 23% of profiles participating in the conversation were inauthentic, actively amplifying criticism across platforms.
